The publication
Purlanza publishes independent assessments of resort accommodation across Italy and San Marino. Our work is editorial: we grade properties, publish the score, and show the reasoning. We are not a booking agent and we sell no placement.
We assess in person, against six fixed criteria, and publish the score alongside the single reservation we hold. Nothing is smoothed over for the property's benefit.
The scoring method
Our editors complete the same six-part assessment at every property, using the weights below. No property receives a bespoke rubric.
- 25% — Casino floors and lounges
- 20% — Rooms and suites
- 20% — Guest service
- 15% — Dining and bars
- 10% — Location
- 10% — Value for money
Funding and independence
Our independence is built into how we operate: no property pays to be listed, none reviews its own assessment before it goes live, and none can have a finding withdrawn.
Links to property websites and booking services are navigational. Any reservation is agreed directly between reader and hotel, with no involvement or benefit on our side.
